One of the most anticipated smartwatches of 2020 is here, Samsung announced the Galaxy Watch 3 at an unpacked event on 5th August. It’s the latest smartwatch on Samsung’s rich smartwatch lineup, and it comes with more fitness tracking features in a slimmer and more compact design. Remember, Samsung had released Galaxy Active last year in March and then Galaxy Active 2 later in August, both of which feature a digital rotating bezel. However, Galaxy Watch 3 succeeds in the original Galaxy Watch that was released in 2018. What’s the Difference?
The difference between Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 (41mm) and (45mm) is that the latter is bigger and has a bigger display size than the 41mm. The 45mm weighs more and has a slightly longer battery life than 41mm, and is also priced higher.

Basically, both Galaxy Watch 3 41mm and 45mm have the same features. It’s the same stainless steel case material and leather straps. Both also feature the iconic physical rotating bezel and touchscreen support with 2 physical buttons. The difference though between the 41mm and 45mm is that the former has a smaller case size, it’s more compact than 45mm. Both are more compact than their predecessors.
While the 41mm has a smaller 1.2 inches case, the 45mm has a bigger 1.4 inches display. AMOLED powers the display on both smartwatches.
The strap sizes are also different, while 41mm comes with 20mm leather straps, 45mm comes with 22mm wide leather straps. Both are interchangeable with compatible straps.
Both models are rated 5ATM (waterproof up to 50 meters) and certified MIL-STD-810G. There are over 50000 watch faces to choose from on Galaxy Watch 3.
There’s also a difference in the battery department just like you get with the older Galaxy Watch. While 45mm has a larger battery capacity of 340mAh, 41mm has a battery capacity of 247mAh. Samsung claims the Galaxy Watch 3 can last up to 2 days, this means you can expect just over a day with the 41mm on mixed usage.
The prices of 41mm and 45mm are also different. Prices of the 41mm start at $399 for the Bluetooth model and $430 for the LTE model, while the 45mm Bluetooth model is priced at $429 and $480 for the LTE model.

Which Should You Buy?
You should go for the one that best suit your wrist size. It’s common for men to choose the 45mm model as a result of having fatter wrist sizes, while the 41 mm will make a perfect choice for women and for those with thinner wrist sizes.
