Fitbit Versa 1 vs 2 Features Compared
- Design
- Media
- Fitness Tracking
- Battery Life
The new Versa 2 is an attractive timepiece with its bigger case size that leaves it with a bolder and charming appearance. Its 1.4 inches wide display allows you see more at a glance compared to the 1.32 inches of its predecessor.
Moreover, the Versa 2 display is now powered by AMOLED instead of an LCD display of its predecessor. As a result, the Versa 2 has a richer display that’s more interactive and lively than the Versa. Although the Versa’s LCD display is quite easier to read outdoors.
The Versa 2 has only one button rather than the 3 found on the Versa, but I doubt if this will make it less easy to navigate compared to the Versa. This adds to its sleek attractive appearance.
Case materials hasn’t changed, its same aluminum case and silicone straps compared to the polyester straps of the Versa. These materials are very comfortable to wear. Although, the special edition of Versa 2 comes with leather straps.
One of the new additions to the Versa 2 is the voice assistant feature that certainly adds more value to this device. The Versa 2 has microphone that lets you access Amazon Alexa – one of the best voice assistant platform only second to Google Assistant.
With Amazon Alexa on Versa 2, you can now perform useful tasks such as checking the weather, setting up reminders as well as being able to control your smart home devices. The Versa lacks these features.
Nothing much has changed in the fitness tracking department. The Versa 2 comes with same sensors found in the Versa. So each of these two have 15 preloaded workout modes, features all day activity tracking which includes heart rate tracking, distance, steps, floors climbed, sleep score and sedentary time.
Unfortunately, Versa 2 lacks inbuilt GPS just like the Versa which means you‘ll have to still rely on your phone GPS to track outdoor activities such as location and real-time pace for your activities.
Stress management, fitness level monitoring, SmartTrack that auto tracks selected activities and complete sleep score tracking are all available on both the Versa 2 and the Versa.
The Versa on regular usage has an average of up to 4 days long battery life which is no doubt impressive. However, the Versa 2 comes with a longer battery life of up to 5 days which will see you go longer on a single charge. Thus making it a great choice for anyone involved in extreme workout activities.
Which is Better?
Clearly the new Versa 2 is a better choice than the Versa. It has wider display that leaves it with a bolder and charming appearance and still very much compact when compared to other smartwatches on the market.
It is more equipped with Alexa to help you perform useful tasks such as checking the weather, setting up reminders, and controlling your smart home devices plus a longer battery life that lets you go longer on a single charge, yet almost the same price as the Versa. Versa 2 is clearly a better deal.
Our Pick
The new Fitbit Versa 2 has a wider display that leaves it with a bolder and attractive appearance. It also has a longer battery life including Amazon Alexa while also being a comprehensive fitness tracker that can help you achieve more fitness goals. It’s our preferred choice.
