What’s the Difference?
- Design
- Fitness Tracking
- Battery Life
Each of these three has got a decent design and looks good to go for any occasion. The Bip is the most compact, it’s also the slimmest and weighs the least which of course makes it the most comfortable to wear. The T-Rex with a 47.7mm case size is quite bulky and it weighs the most, compared to the Bip and GTR which are both very lightweight. In other words, the T-Rex is not befitting wear for women, it’s a man’s watch.
The Bip and T-Rex have polymer case material as against the GTR which is available in stainless steel, titanium or lightweight aluminum. And while the Bip and T-Rex come with silicone straps, the GTR comes with a leather or fluoro-rubber material that complements its classic appearance.
Looking at the display, the Bip’s transflective LCD display is not so rich when compared to AMOLED powering the display of the T-Rex and GTR, but it’s easier to read under sunlight compared to the other two.
Each of these three will track your steps, sleep, continuous heart rate monitoring and there’s inbuilt GPS in all three which enables outdoor activity tracking such as routes and location.
The GTR comes with 12 preloaded sport modes that include outdoor running, swimming, walking and treadmill, while the Bip has only 4 preloaded sport modes and the T-Rex has 14 sport modes which makes it a more comprehensive activity tracker. Moreover, triathlon sport modes will be added to the T-Rex via the OTA upgrade. The Amazfit Watch App is your fitness companion on the GTR and T-Rex devices that allows you to view your daily activity progress and manage your fitness goals, while the Bip has the Mi Fit App as it’s fitness companion.
These three have some of the longest battery life on the market, it’s one of the main reasons Amazfit smartwatches are some of the best selling on the market. The Bip has the longest battery life that keeps you going for about a month thanks to its transflective LCD display compared to the GTR and T-Rex with over 2 weeks-long of battery life.
Verdict
Each of these three is a nice smartwatch with a decent design, fitness-focused and long battery life that allows you to go long from a single charge. However, while the GTR takes the appearance of a traditional watch, the Bip and T-Rex are rather sporty in appearance making these two more befitting wear for sports events.
The T-Rex with more activity tracking features is the most comprehensive fitness tracker and being certified MIL-STD-810G, it’s the most durable and sturdy device out of these three. It’s the best choice, while the Bip and GTR are nice alternatives.
