The Scanwatch is the latest hybrid smartwatch from Withings, it was announced at the CES 2020. Although available in two sizes, it comes with a bigger and brighter PMOLED display, more durable sapphire glass covers the screen and is even more equipped to track sleep apnea, detects irregular heart rhythm and blood oxygen. Each of these three watches from Withings is no doubt fine-looking, durably built and stylish. Perhaps some of the finest hybrid smartwatches on the market. Stainless steel has been used for the case on all three, while straps are available in leather and silicone, but are interchangeable just in case you wish to change it.
Although each of these three has got a classy appearance, the Scanwatch is a higher-end device featuring more durable sapphire glass for the screen and also has a brighter and wider PMOLED display that’s a lot easier to read compared to the Steel HR Sport. The Move ECG lacks a digital display, but still got a smaller face that displays activity progress which is also present on the other two.
The 32g and 38mm sized Move ECG weighs a little less than the other two and is the most compact. So, it’s the most comfortable wear.
Each of these three is fitness-focused and equipped to track your active life, but the Scanwatch being more equipped is able to track more activities than you can with the Steel HR Sport or Move ECG. The Scanwatch is the first smartwatch from Withings with the capability to track sleep apnea – a health condition that can go undetected and can be fatal. This occurs as a result of insufficient airflow into the lungs which may cause a drop in blood oxygen level.
Moreover, the Scanwatch and Move ECG feature ECG tracking which can help you detect irregular heart rhythm also known as atrial fibrillation (AFib), Steel HR Sport lacks this feature.
Both the Scanwatch and Steel HR Sport come with about 30 preloaded sport modes from which you can easily select from your preferred workout mode. This isn’t possible with the Move ECG.
Although, each of these three will track your steps, complete sleep cycle, outdoor activities via connected GPS and heart rate monitoring. You can then see your stats and manage your fitness goals through the Health Mate App.

The Move ECG which lacks a digital display lacks the ability to display new notifications compared to the Scanwatch and Steel HR Sport which both have a small digital PMOLED display that lets you see new notifications from your phone.
The Move ECG uses a replaceable CR2430 button cell, unlike the Scanwatch and Steel HR Sport both of which have a rechargeable battery. While the Move ECG will go about a year before needing battery replacement, the Steel HR Sport will go about 25 days long which is a little shorter than the Scanwatch with about 30 days long battery life.

Verdict
We have three fine classic hybrid smartwatches, fantastic design, nice activity tracking features and long battery life, but the Scanwatch with a more durable and stylish design and more health tracking features makes it the most comprehensive activity tracker, and is the best choice.
On the other hand, the Steel HR Sport with notification ability even though lacks ECG tracking is a smarter alternative, while the Move ECG is still a nice choice if notification on your wrist matters less to you.

Although more expensive, the Scanwatch is our preferred choice. With stainless steel and sapphire glass, it’s a more durable smartwatch and with sleep apnea and ECG, it’s one of the most advanced health monitors on the market.
