Fitbit Inspire vs Inspire HR – The Differences?

Features Compared

  • Design and Display
  • The difference between the Inspire and Inspire HR is that the later has a silicone strap instead of elastomer strap of the Inspire and it also has a heart rate sensor that is lacking on the Inspire.

    Both the Fitbit Inspire and Inspire HR have the same sleek, slim and stylish design. So with any of these, you would still get an adorable fitness tracker on your wrist. However, the Inspire HR has a band made of silicone while the Inspire has a thermoplastic elastomer. These two materials are two of the most widely used in the industry, but the silicone is more durable, impervious to UV, offers greater comfort than TPE. Although, these two materials are still great.

  • Fitness Tracking

Fitness tracking is where most of the difference between these two trackers come in. The Inspire lacks a heart rate sensor. So, while the Inspire is cheaper you won’t be able to track your heart rate which is a crucial part of comprehensive fitness tracking. Fitness enthusiasts are likely to ditch the Inspire for the Inspire HR.

This sees the Inspire lack some vital fitness tracking features; you can’t track your heart rate, while you can track your sleep with the Inspire, you can’t track sleep stages and although you can track calories with the Inspire, you won’t be enjoying advance calories tracking, the sort of fat burned data you get from heart rate zones.

So, while both of these are fitness-focused beasts, the Inspire HR takes it to the extreme, it’s more holistic and a more comprehensive fitness tracker.

Which is Better?

These two are two fantastic fitness trackers, both are cheap, but if I was going to buy one of these, I would buy the Inspire HR. If it’s within your budget, go for the full option so you can experience the full offer. In this case, it’s a $30 difference that separates these two, I don’t think it’s an overkill, you should go for the Inspire HR. It’s a better bargain and gives the best value for money.

Here is a summary;

Fitbit Inspire HR A more comprehensive and advance fitness tracker, gives the best value for money.
Fitbit InspireA nice alternative, a great choice for fitness tracking and a fine choice for starters and anyone on low budget.
