What are The Differences?

Ticwatch S2 vs Fossil Gen 4 Sport vs Fitbit Versa Features compared

  1. Ticwatch S2 vs Fossil Gen 4 Sport vs Fitbit Versa: Design
  2. One common thing similar to each of these three is the spectacular aesthetics and being fitness focused just as intended by their respective makers. Although the Fitbit Versa has the most outstanding design, considering it’s the slimmest and also has the smallest case size even while still featuring a moderate screen size.

AMOLED which results in a more interactive display and wider viewing angle powers the display on Ticwatch S2 and Fossil Gen 4 sport while the Versa display is powered by LCD which is more visible outdoors compared to the S2 and Gen 4 Sport, but not as rich and interactive as AMOLED.

In terms of durability, each of these three is built to last, however Ticwatch S2 has MIL-STD-810G military grade rating that makes it more rugged and tougher than the Gen 4 Sport and Versa. This makes it the best choice to wear while travelling or just on some sort of trip, the best choice for adventurous activities. It will survive tougher conditions than the other two.

Overall, the Versa looks the most stylish and premium, something close to Apple watch series 4. The Gen 4 Sport looks stylish though, but not premium. The S2 on the other hand doesn’t have the most stylish design, but also has a fantastic design, no doubt the most ideal for men.

  3. Ticwatch S2 vs Fossil Gen 4 Sport vs Fitbit Versa: Battery Life
  4. Battery life on each of these three is quiet impressive. Although, the Fossil Gen 4 Sport battery life is not all that impressive despite being the first Fossil smartwatch and one of the first three smartwatches to be powered by Snapdragon 3100 which promises better battery life and improved performance. The Fossil Gen 4 Sport battery life downplays this claim, although there are slight improvements in its battery life compared to previous versions, but below expectations. On regular usage, it’s just about a day, however with the new Snapdragon 3100 featuring battery saver mode that switches the watch to time-only mode that extends the battery life up to 12 hours.

The Ticwatch S2 on the other hand comfortably last over 2 days on mixed usage. That’s great and impressive too, while the Fitbit Versa has the longest battery life of up to 3 days+ on regular usage perhaps due to the LCD display that consumes less power than AMOLED.

  5. Ticwatch S2 vs Fossil Gen 4 Sport vs Fitbit Versa: Performance
  6. Both Ticwatch S2 and Fossil Gen 4 Sport run on the latest Wear OS. However, the Gen 4 Sport being powered by the newer Snapdragon 3100 chip is better in terms of faster performance, the battery safer mode and upcoming updates which the Snapdragon 2100 might not receive.

Fitbit Versa performance is great and the Fitbit OS has improved greatly featuring over 500 apps to choose from, but the Wear OS is more robust and versatile.

  7. Ticwatch S2 vs Fossil Gen 4 Sport vs Fitbit Versa: Connectivity

Fossil Gen 4 sport and Ticwatch S2 both lack loudspeaker, but have microphone which allows you to take calls directly on either watch and also can ask Google assistant anything via the voice command feature. The Versa lacks both loudspeaker and microphone, you can’t receive calls on the Versa, although you can reply to text messages (Android only).
There is an NFC on the special edition of the Versa that enables Fitbit Pay, but will cost you extra $30 to acquire. The Gen 4 Sport also has NFC that supports Google pay on the watch allowing you make payments on the go while the S2 lacks NFC chip meaning you can’t make payments from it.

Ticwatch S2 vs Fossil Gen 4 Sport vs Fitbit Versa: Which is Better?

The design features and performance of these three watches is remarkably, I must say. However, the Versa has the most stylish design, it’s sleek and portable. A fantastic choice for women and people with smaller wrist. The Fossil Gen 4 Sport is also stylish and with 41mm case size, it’s a fantastic choice for both men and women. I’d recommend the Versa ahead of the Gen 4 Sport for women.

On the other hand, the Ticwatch S2 has a nice design, also rugged and tough. If you looking for a watch that can withstand tougher weather conditions and a great companion for your next adventure, then the S2 will do the trick and in addition, the Ticmotion AI algorithm that accounts for more accurate tracking results makes the S2 a fantastic choice for activity tracking. I’d recommend this for men.

Here is a summary;

FITBIT VERSAThe best choice, fantastic design, impressive battery life and enormous fitness tracking features.
TICWATCH S2A slight cheaper alternative to the Versa, great design, rugged and impressive battery life
FOSSIL GEN 4 SPORTNo doubt a fantastic timepiece, stylish and classy with great performance.
Our Pick

The Fitbit Versa is our preferred choice. Despite lacking inbuilt GPS, the design is great, the battery life is very impressive plus interesting fitness tracking features.
