Matrix Powerwatch 2 Features
The Design and Display
The aesthetics of the Powerwatch 2 is quite outstanding being that it features some of the most durable materials used on most premium smartwatches and the finish shows high level craftsmanship. The case of the watch is an aircraft-grade aluminum material while the screen is covered with sapphire glass – one of the strongest glass materials only found on high-end smartwatches.
The size of the Powerwatch 2 is moderate, although quite thick at 16mm – it suggests a smartwatch for men, while the 22mm silicone strap which are interchangeable adds to its sporty appearance.
The Powerwatch 2 comes in three different versions; the regular version, powerwatch 2 Premium and powerwatch 2 Luxe.
The difference between these three is the materials used for the body build. The regular version which sales for $400 has a aircraft-grade aluminum casing and silicone straps, while the Powerwatch 2 Premium features a sleek silver finish, and a 22mm stainless steel metal strap with quick release butterfly buckle. And on the other hand, the Powerwatch 2 Luxe features a smooth titanium finish, and a quick release 22mm shark mesh Milanese strap in black.
The Powerwatch 2 features a colored LCD display that’s always on and considering its thermoelectric/solar powered, you can be sure to have your watch on all the time.
The water resistant rating of the Powerwatch 2 is quite massive – one of the few premium smartwatches with such rating. Rated 20ATM makes the Powerwatch 2 water resistant up to 200 meters under water. It’s well recommended to wear it while swimming.
Impressive Battery Life
Battery life on most smartwatches is miserable to say the least, but the Powerwatch 2 tackles this issue in a very innovational way. First, on the previous versions it was just thermoelectric, but now it’s thermoelectric/solar powered.
The Powerwatch 2 is powered by your body heat, as long as you wear it, it stays on, and if it’s not on your wrist, you can also power it up by exposing it to the sun.
Innovational, I must say.
The Powerwatch 2 is more of a fitness smartwatch than a fashion watch. It comes with a pedometer that tracks your step, distance and other related metrics, a heart rate sensor that tracks your heart rate, calories, helping you to know when to intensify or slow down your effort and an inbuilt GPS that makes it a great choice for outdoor activity tracking.
The Powerwatch 2 can also track your sleep cycle, giving you insight into the quality of sleep, sleep stages and time spent in each stage and as well works great with third-party apps.
The PowerWatch APP serves as the companion app for the Powerwatch 2. You can see all track data for the day on the App and as well let you set goals. Although not so intuitive, but goes a long way in helping you manage your fitness goals.
Unlike its predecessor, the Powerwatch 2 keeps you connected with all that matters to you. It’s compatible with both Android and iOS devices, once successfully paired, it alerts you when there’s a new notification from your phone.
