Although not the most outstanding design or rather most stylish considering its hefty price tag. However, the Forerunner 945 has got a decent appearance that looks compact and bold (a man’s kind of watch) and spots a very eye-catching bezel that’s well decorated to match those high profile occasions.
With a case size of 47mm, it’s quite bulky and the 13.7mm thickness size adds to its bulkiness, but surprisingly doesn’t make it heavier. The Forerunner 945 is actually lightweight at 50 grams compared to other high-end smartwatches like the Galaxy Watch which weighs 63 grams.
On the display, is the regular Memory-in-pixel display that powers the display on Garmin’s smartwatches. The transflective LCD display isn’t the most interactive like AMOLED, but it’s clearly more visible under sunlight which makes it a great deal for people who engage in outdoor sport activities. At least catching a glimpse in the middle of the action wouldn’t be a problem.
We don’t know exactly what material is used for the case, but it’s obviously thermoplastic while the silicone straps, fiber-reinforced polymer bezel and Corning Gorilla glass DX on the screen indicate top quality build which ensures it would last a little longer than a regular device.
You can swap the silicone straps if you don’t like them with compatible ones that measure 22mm, same also goes for the watch face. There’re available watch faces to choose from on the Garmin connect store. This off course will allow you define your style for the next outing.
Impressive Battery Life
Just like the 935, the Forerunner 945 also has an impressive battery life that allow you focus on what you need to achieve while letting you go long on a single charge.
According to the maker, you should expect about 2 weeks of battery life on smartwatch mode, while with GPS active and music in play, it’s about 10 hours and with only GPS active, it’s about 36 hours. You should bear in mind that these figures will vary among users, it could be less or even higher.
The Forerunner 945 is rated 5ATM which means it water resistant up to 50 meters. So it’s swim-proof and with swim tracking features such as stroke count, pace, calories and swim efficiency (SWOLF) available, it’s certainly a great choice for swimmers who like to monitor their performance while swimming.
From the fitness tracking features available on the Forerunner 945, its certainly one of the best fitness smartwatches on the market right now.
The Forerunner 945 is a GPS smartwatch featuring a robust list of sensors onboard which enables it to track quite a lot of activities.

Garmin is quite choosy with information pertaining the internal storage available, but from what’s stated, you can store up to 1000 of your tracks on the watch an as well supports streaming of your favorite tracks from select services such as Spotify.
