What are The Differences?
- Water Resistance
No doubt, Fitbit Charge 3 and the versa have better designs that look more elegant and posh. However, Amazfit bip is sleeker with 9.5mm in thickness while Charge 3 measures 11.8 mm in thickness and the Versa has a thickness of 12mm.
Fitbit charge 3 has the smallest weight, but just only a slight difference. It weighs 30 grams in total probably due to the aluminum case while the Amazfit Bip weighs 31 grams and Versa is the heaviest with 38 grams weight. All the three are lightweight, no doubt.
Looking at the display, the Charge 3 and Versa have a better display with Versa having the richest display but not so visible under daylight compared to the Amazfit bip which uses a transflective display that is far easily readable under any condition.
The special editions of Fitbit Charge 3 and Versa have NFC chip built in which supports Fitbit pay. There is no NFC chip inside the Bip, however it comes with inbuilt GPS which can’t be found on Charge 3 and Versa. Although Charge 3 and Versa through Bluetooth can work with your phone GPS, but this isn’t a great option especially when you really need to leave your phone behind. A connected GPS doesn’t give that much needed convenience.
These three smartwatches are all water resistant, however Amazfit is rated IP68 which means it is only water resistant up to 1.5 meters while Charge 3 and Versa are both certified 5ATM which means they are water resistant up to 50meters. This means you can safely wear the Charge 3 and the Versa to pool or ocean allowing you to track your swimming activities. You can’t wear the Bip to the pool, so for folks that want to track their swimming activities, the Bip is not the perfect choice.
Undisputed, Amazfit Bip boost of one of the longest battery life amongst modern day smartwatches. The Amazfit Bip has a longer battery life compared to Charge 3 and Versa. The Bip has a battery life of over 2 weeks on mixed usage while the Charge 3 comes second with 2days+ battery life and versa has just over a day or two at most battery life. These three have battery life above industry average of over a day on a single charge which is impressive.
Which Should You Buy
Your buying choice might actually be based on the appearance of these three smarwatches. The Bip has a great design no doubt, but compared to the Charge 3 and Versa it lags behind. Fitbit Charge 3 has the most sophisticated design and has all the attributes that makes it a perfect choice for fitness tracking. It weighs less and is rated 5ATM.
So, if you are after a perfect fitness tracker that gets the job done then the Charge 3 will do the trick. However, if your are much concerned about a fitness tracker and smartwatch summed in one that will be a great fit for casual events then the Versa will be a great choice.
Amazfit Bip has a longer battery life plus it comes with inbuilt GPS, but the Fitbit Charge 3 also has a good battery life plus their Fitbit APP is quiet innovative and has some interesting features for serious fitness tracking. That said, we choose Fitbit Charge 3. It is a more complete Fitness smartwatch.
