Fitbit Charge 3 has the largest screen size of 1.57 inches compared to 1.28 inches of Amazfit bip and 1.5 inches of charge 2. However Amazfit bip is sleeker having a thickness of just 9.5mm compared to 11.8 mm of Charge 3 and 12.7mm of Charge 2. Although Fitbit Charge 3 weighs slightly less with just 30 grams compared to Amazfit bip 31 grams and 36 grams of Charge 2. Not so much of a difference, moreover the weight of this three is still far less compared to other mainstream smartwatches.
Fitbit Charge 3 though with a monochromic display, has the brightest display better than that of the Bip and Charge 2, however the Bip with its transflective LCD display is more visible under any condition including under bright sunlight.
There is an NFC chip built into Fitbit Charge 3 special edition which supports Fitbit Pay a contactless payment system that lets you load your credit card details into the smartwatch and be able to make payments on the go. This feature can’t be found on Amazfit bip or Charge 2. On the other hand, Amazfit Bip has inbuilt GPS which lets you track outdoor activities effortlessly in the most convenient manner, while with the Charge 3 and Charge 2 you will have to connect to a phone to access GPS functions. This can cause some level on inconveniences in some situations.
Fitbit Charge 2 is only splash-proof while Amazfit Bip is certified IP68 which means its water resistant up to 1.5meters under water and Fitbit Charge 3 rated 5ATM is water resistant up to 50 meters. This means that you can wear the Charge 3 to the pool or ocean, but you dare not try that with either Amazfit Bip or Charge 2. That is to say that the Charge 3 is a great choice for avid swimmers who need to track their swimming activities.
The Charge 3, no doubt has a great battery life but compared to the Bip it is far less. Amazfit bip is revered for its monster battery life that exceeds two weeks on regular usage. This is great advantage for folks who engage in extreme workout sessions and even more better it is the best choice for traveling and camping activities. The Charge 3 has battery life that still exceeds a day on a single charge which is still great compared to Charge 2 which manages to exceed a day on mixed usage.
Which Should You Buy
The best choice will depend on what your preferences are for buying a smartwatch. The Charge 3 has the best design that is both fascinating and stylish. However Amazfit Bip is rugged and will stand those tough conditions better.
For serious fitness tracking, Fitbit Charge 3 has the slight advantage, it weighs less, is rated 5ATM and has more fitness tracking options available compared to Amazfit bip. However, if you just after a smartwatch that still gets the job done and allows you go longer on a single charge then Amazfit Bip will do the trick. Moreover, Amazfit bip cost less than $100 compared to the Charge 3 which cost about $200.
Amazfit Bip, no doubt is a great choice, considering that it is cheaper but still has all the features that makes a great smartwatch. That said, we are ready to forgo 5ATM on Charge 3 for inbuilt GPS and a longer battery life. So, Amazfit Bip is our preferred Choice.
