Fitbit has started rolling out the latest update for Versa 3 and Sense which was announced earlier. The new update brings the earlier announced features like Google Assistant, Alexa voice replies, on-wrist calls, and more ways to view your Spo2 levels on Versa 3 and Sense. This update is rolling out gradually region by region starting with the US, if you haven’t received it in your country, be patient as it will arrive soon. Let’s talk about what’s new on Versa 3 and Sense with the new firmware update.

Setup On-wrist Calls For Fitbit Versa 3 and Sense
- On-wrist calls
- Google Assistant is now available
- Alexa voice reply is now available
- More SpO2 watch faces
Before now, you can’t make nor take calls directly from the Versa 3, you can only answer the call then continue on the connected phone. Now, with this update, you can enjoy On-wrist calls on Versa 3 or Sense. You’ll have to setup on-wrist call for your Versa 3 or Sense and enable call notification as well as make sure your phone is nearby. The voice clarity is not bad at all. Unfortunately, for now, you can’t make a call directly from the Versa 3 or Sense, however, with Google Assistant, you can ask to call a number, but you’ll have to continue the call on your phone. Perhaps, future updates will address this limitation.
Secondly, the new update also adds Google Assistant which now gives you access to two voice assistants; Alexa and Google Assistant. You can only use one at a time. You’ll need to setup Google Assistant for Versa 3 and Sense to enable you to use your voice to do simple tasks.
Furthermore, there’s now a voice reply for Alexa. This means, I can hear Alexa reply, this isn’t available with Google Assistant for now.
Fitbit Versa 2, 3, and Sense can monitor your SpO2 levels when you sleep and show the result through a watch face when you wake up. Before now, there was only one way to view your Spo2 levels which is through the Signature watch face. Now, with this update, you get more SpO2 watch faces that allow you to view your blood oxygen levels when you wake up. I still wish Fitbit can make their watches measure blood oxygen levels on demand.
These are what have been added with the latest update and I think it’s a significant improvement.
