Both smartwatches are equipped with onboard music storage and streaming is supported, but while the Active 2 comes with a mere 4GB out of which about 2.4GB is available for use, the Fenix 6 Pro has a massive 32GB that allows you to take more of your favorite tracks along with you.On the other hand, Active 2 with more features has a microphone and loudspeaker which are not present on the Fenix 6 Pro. This allows you to access voice assistance features via Bixby, you can start the exercise with your voice and as well perform other tasks simply with your voice. You can also make and receive calls via Bluetooth connection with your phone and play media files aloud.
- Cellular Connectivity
- Fitness Tracking
- Battery Life
Each of these two is sturdily designed with very durable materials and the appearances look stylish and classy too. While stainless steel (LTE) or aluminum (non-LTE)has been used for the Active 2, fiber-reinforced polymer material is used for the Fenix 6 Pro case. Straps are available in different materials; silicone and leather, and are interchangeable. The Fenix 6 Pro has a DLC or stainless steel bezel, while the Active 2 has a Corning Gorilla glass covering its bezel.
The Active2 is actually a more stylish smartwatch, it’s more compact, slimmer and weighs far less than the Fenix 6 Pro which makes it a more comfortable to wear. Moreover, there’s a smaller 40mm model that’s even more compact and more befitting to wear for women and those with a smaller wrist.
The Active 2’s 1.3 inch AMOLED display is more beautiful and richer than the transflective MIP display of the Fenix 6 Pro. Although, the Fenix 6 Pro is easier to read under direct sunlight which makes it better wear for outdoor sports as you can easily catch a glance while working out.
Moreover, while the Fenix 6 Pro has only physical buttons for navigation, the Active 2 supports touchscreen which makes no difference whatsoever. However, the digital rotating bezel added to the Active 2 makes it a lot easier to navigate.
There’s an LTE model of the Active 2 (stainless steel) that comes with a preloaded e-SIM that enables cellular connectivity and makes it a standalone smartwatch that allows you to make and receive calls directly from the watch independent of your phone. You can also access internet connectivity anywhere there’s service. And with the new social media features, you can like, share and follow your favorite posts leaving your phone at home. The Fenix 6 Pro lacks these features.
Fitness tracking is at the center of these two smartwatches as each is well equipped to track your active life comprehensively. Each of these two will track your sleep, continuous heart rate monitoring, and calories with an inbuilt GPS that enable outdoor activity tracking.
The Active 2 features over 39 sport modes, monitors your stress and there’s ECG tracking that can detect irregular heart rhythm, although not yet approved by the FDA.
On the other hand, the Fenix 6 Pro is a more comprehensive activity tracker, it has more fitness tracking features than you will get from the Active 2. It features an onscreen animated workout that can save you money on subscriptions, TOPO preloaded maps make it easier to track your location and routes and there’s Pulse Ox. that tracks your blood oxygen level to give better sleep tracking stats and can be useful for climbers. Menstrual cycle logging and under-water heart rate tracking are some more activity-tracking features not present in Active 2.
On average with mixed usage, the Active 2 will last 2 days or more, this is quite impressive, but the Fenix 6 Pro will last longer. The Fenix 6 Pro with mixed usage with lasts for over a week which is very impressive and thus makes it a better smartwatch for tracking long hours of sport events.

Which is Better?
Each of these two is an outstanding smartwatch, beautifully designed, lots of features and impressive long battery life. However, the Active 2 has a microphone, loudspeaker and is a standalone smartwatch which makes it a more comprehensive smartwatch than the Fenix 6 Pro. Moreover, the Active 2 is a more stylish and a classier smartwatch.
On the other hand, the Fenix 6 Pro with more fitness tracking features is a more comprehensive fitness tracker. It also has a longer battery life which adds to making it a better fitness smartwatch than the Active 2. So, for more serious activity tracking, the Fenix 6 Pro has more sensors and apps to track your active life.
Our Pick
I go with the Active 2 – it’s cheaper and has lots of features while also being an outstanding fitness tracker, yet a lot cheaper than the Fenix 6 Pro.
