The long-awaited Honor Watch Magic 2 from Huawei sub-brand Honor, has been announced and is set to be released later in December. It succeeds the Honor Watch Magic released last year November, and of course, as expected, the Magic 2 is a finer smartwatch with a better display, onboard music storage, loudspeaker, and microphone. The Kirin AI chipset introduced to the Huawei Watch GT 2 is also present on the Magic 2.
Just like the Watch GT 2, the Magic 2 is available in two sizes; 42mm and 46mm. The 42mm model lacks microphone and loudspeaker just like the Watch GT 2 42mm, but present on the 46mm model. - Display and Design
- Fitness Tracking
- Battery Life
These two no doubt are some of the finest smartwatches presently on the market. Each of these two features a remarkable slim design that leaves these two with a sleek appearance that’s both classy and very stylish. The finish is also top-notch with high-grade stainless steel used, ceramics bezel adds to the texture as well as being very lightweight smartwatches.
Moreover, the rich AMOLED display used on both devices offers a stunning and very interactive display. However, the Magic 2 being 9mm slim is slimmer than the 10.7mm GT 2. Although, while the GT 2 ships with three different straps; fluoroelastomer, leather or titanium metal materials, the Magic 2 ships with silicone and leather straps. You can change this anytime by simply swapping with compatible straps of your choice.
Each of these two is fitness-focused, better equipped than their respective predecessors to track your active life comprehensively. The innovative Huawei Truseen, TruRelax and TruSleep are all present on both devices to track your heart rate more accurately, breath guidance to help you recover from stress and are able to track your complete sleep stages (Rem, deep and light).
The multi-satellite inbuilt GPS system is also available on these two which enables outdoor activity tracking. Triathlon sport modes, training effect and recovery effect are also present on these two. Blood oxygen tracking has also been introduced to both devices.
Swim-heart rate tracking that tracks your heart rate while you swim is also present on both smartwatches.
There’s no significant difference in the battery life of these two as each has been tested to last 14 days with regular usage. That’s very impressive and makes any of these two a great choice that allows you to go longer from a single charge.

Which is Better?
Each of these is stylish, classy, loaded with features, comprehensive fitness trackers with very long battery life. However, the Watch GT 2 with more sophisticated design is somewhat a better smartwatch. This, of course, explains it’s slight higher price.
On the other hand, the Magic 2 is also a fantastic choice. It can do almost everything the GT 2 (46mm) can do. Bluetooth calling, onboard storage, voice assistant are all present, including the ability to customize the watch face simply with your picture. It’s cheaper, yet great quality, and that makes it enticing.
Our Pick
We go with the Honor Watch Magic 2 (46mm), it’s a really nice smartwatch with an outstanding design, loaded with lots of features and has a very long battery life.
